I'm not quite sold on the Garifuna being an admixture of Africans and Native Caribs. Simply by looking at any Garifuna, they have 100% African features. There is zero trace of any indigenous race in them. Probably there was some intermixing along the way but apparently it was not significant enough to impact their overall genetic makeup. It would be great if we got an adequate number of Garifuna samples in order for the relevant tests to be carried out on them with a view to map out their entire D.N.A. to prove or disprove this hypothesis.
